First, get some sleep, party girl! That’s one way to lighten up raccoon eyes. My recipe is simple: wipe off the waterproof makeup with olive oil (lots of it), rinse off the remainders with baby soap (ideally, organic), and then apply lots and lots of anti-cellulite cream to the eye area avoiding lids and immediate lash line. All cellulite creams contain water-draining and skin tightening ingredients such as caffeine or green tea. But here’s the catch.
To relieve puffiness, cut the caffeine from inside (drink less coffee) and add it to outside. Apply any creams that contain caffeine or even apply cotton pads moistened in espresso (cold) to your eyelids. For me, Nespresso brings best results (taste-wise, I prefer cheap French capsules :) – but skip caffeine in your cup. Opt for green tea which purges excess water and helps make puffy eyes less annoying.
Puffy eye problem could arise because of genetics or allergies, and there are other ways to make it go away. Camouflage and clever eye sculpting is one of them.
First, dab concealer in the inner corner of your eye. Choose mineral concealer that rubs on sheer and has light-reflecting properties. Add some under the eye as well. For very dry eyes, combine concealer with eye cream and rub gently. And don’t apply eyeliner or mascara on your bottom lashes — it only accentuates the puffy eye problem.
