Green Beauty Gift Giving Checklist
All the excess packaging, gift wrapping and unwanted gift waste take a huge load on our environment. Here are some things we can do to reduce our beauty output during any given holiday season:
1. Try to choose items with minimal packaging to help reduce waste! Avoid excessive wrapping and use reusable gift bags when you can. Check with the local recycling authority to see what can be recycled.
2. Buy a gift certificate when you are unsure what someone would most appreciate - and reduce gift wastage!
3. Buy local produce as much as possible to satisfy your beauty needs!
4. Buy in bulk. It’s less expensive and results in less packaging garbage going to the landfill!
5. Send an e-card - it saves both paper and on the energy usually spent delivering your good wishes.
8. Give green gifts! A reusable bottle for water, eco cleaning products to replace those nasty chemicals in your home, designer cloth shopping bags, and an environmentally educational book would make wonderful gifts.
