Mineral Makeup Tips from gloMinerals: Sultry Eyes and Glowing Skin

September 8th, 2010 · No Comments

As someone who has enjoyed her laidback Mommyhood so much it’s squeezing out of my ears, I am happily embracing makeup, nail polishes (big threes avoided: no phthalates, toluene, and formaldehyde, Zoya fitting the bill perfectly…) In fact, I make a conscious effort to apply some foundation and eye makeup every morning (didn’t know it [...]

Jennifer Hudson’s Makeup: How to Make It Organic

February 10th, 2009 · 4 Comments

Jennifer Hudson took home a Grammy this February, and if I could hand over a Best Makeup Awards, she would have scored a pretty gilded makeup brush, too. Her makeup was flawless, gorgeous and very, very inspirational.
As I browsed via Glamour.com, I couldn’t help but snatched some ideas.

But after a quick stroll online and offline, in our local Space NK, I realized [...]

June 16th, 2008 · No Comments

Each time I performed that obligatory “tap, swirl and buff” technique I could feel the powder coating inside of my nose and scratching my throat. I am not sensitive to any chemicals and I am not prone to allergies. So maybe inhaling mineral foundation isn’t really good for us?

All-Natural Mascara: Not Easy Being Green, After All

May 26th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Not all mascaras are created equal, and when it comes to mascaras, green beauty industry is still hanging behind. Most natural mascaras that I tried (including Miessense, Dr. Hauschka, Lavera, Nvey Eco) always lacked that little something that makes me repurchase a makeup product. Either a texture is too runny, or a smell is off, or it flakes into my contacts.
